How much money you have in that bike? $$$$$$
1:02 I'm kinda skeptical about the roll counter-torque component from the wheel being the primary reason for introduction of lean. Intuition feels it's rather than a friction force being applied at the point of a wheel laterally, moving that wheel to one side. Then the force of unsupported weight to one side of the motorcycle causing a rotational moment due to gravity and that causing the bike to lean to one side. Of course there's a roll torque component but I would be surprised if that was responsible for the majority of it. Imagine we replaced the front wheel with a mini ski so that there's no torque induced from wheel spin. I feel that the rate of lean added per distance would be negligibly similar. Also, imagine a motorcycle with the wheels suspended off the ground, front wheel in full turn lock. Does it seem reasonable that the wheel spin from its speed at 15 mph would realistically create the type of torque needed to quickly lean a bike to one side as a small countersteer does? Remember, it only takes a countersteer of a few degrees to induce immense lean angle rapidly, and only a small component of that translates to roll torque. If the steering angle is 10°, that's only sin(10) or 17% of torque generated.
Actually you used dlsr camera..?
It's a competition between engineers and not riders anymore. I've stopped watching and following MotoGP since 4 strokes came in and afterthat all the electronic aids. Rider Skills are gone imo.
Thats the dream, look forward to seeing that
As battery technology advances the gap between ICE and electric is only going to grow. There is a lot of growing room as far as battery technology goes.
You did awesome job with the bike and with providing the info! :)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!!
I would be down to ride this. This would allow me to practice close to my home and not having to drive hours every other weekend to practice. Id rather ride often than loud...
Very cool. First thing I thought of when I saw this bike. What is the frontend of of? Espacially the triple clamp because of the steering stop and stuff or did you have to modify this? Is this like common parts like KTM/Husqvarna stuff, also Wheels and Swingarm? You said it's a FS450 Wheel in the back? Would be interested in Details of the conversion, which parts fit and so on.
These types of videos are amazing. Thank you for posting!

@mikeonbikes where did u disappear?
wow, what an incredible explanation of motorcycle racing dynamics! My mind is blown!
Is the 109 mph limit because of the motor RPM limiter? If a 38 tooth rear was installed would the bike go 123mph? Is there room for a 16 tooth front sprocket?
Great video, thanks for sharing. What gearing are you running? I tried 14/40 on mine but it didn’t pull it properly, only got 103mph top speed.
Love your content, but i skip this one
Hi Mike, thanks for great videos. Can you please tell me are there any special names for overtake techniques in MotoGP, named after riders or so? Some Japanese name on K rings in my head, i can not recall.
the dudes in europe are even faster... its insane
This might have be the best gopro tutorial I've seen yet.
What's the top speed?
I guess it runs in my blood this is how I street ride
Great series, where is the next episode for the FS450R ?
Damn, very nice bike. How did you get a hold of that sick Front end and what did it cost 😮
I’m a dragger myself.
How fast could this thing actually go with the right gearing ?
This will probably be in my garage in the mext 2 years. Alredy have a SurRon Light Bee for putting in the backcountry arround my farm, and the stark should be my track weapon. Unless i decide i want to ride rallys more.
The speed an electric motorcycle or cargoes is simply a function of the battery's discharge capabilities. If you ride hard as a rule, you destroy batteries. Are they faster. For a minute. Then they catch fire. Or the battery goes dead. They are not ready.
May be the best use case I have seen for the Stark.
I want this bike as a street daily rider. When they put a license plate on it. I’ll buy one
its sick and no hate but i just dont trust the longevity of these bikes yet. as a hobbyist electrical engineer with tons of experience with ev tech i can say that these things promise a lot. we will see how they last. sick bike nonetheless tho
🐝🏁Great video 👍 thanks for sharing I like riding my SUR-RON EBIKE it's so fun to ride 👌
suspension is stock height or what? stock rear wheel size?
Was thinking I want more traction for breaking than for acceleration, but you can only brake so hard before you flip the bike. Wonder if that is a key factor in choosing front tire width?
Beautiful Bike Man , Amazing Build 👍🏼
it's only good for a lap or two before overheating. Hopefully, the sm version can comoete
Its NOT the fastest NEVER mind the worlds fastest.
He states that it accelerates from 0 - 60mph in 3.1 seconds. HIs kTM 450 SMR can only do it in 3.5 seconds (which is impressive!!) Do you know of any supermoto out there that is faster than this 0-60 time?
@@frankonorway Okay bro... Its crap... He also said it does over 100 and it only goes 86MPH....
@@frankonorway I will race him any day with my bike
@@frankonorway This bike would smoke his ass so long as the person riding can hold the front down. ua-cam.com/video/BSTIGcI9Rdw/v-deo.html
LOL 690 KTM smc-R will go way way faster. I've had mine up to 135 and I bet in a rolling start the 690 would be faster even though it weighs more because it would be easier to keep the front down. Even on the heavier 690 its really hard to keep the front down if you're into the gas. Also good luck filling up if you take it off the track and take it on the road.... Junk.
Interesting video brother!!! Keep'em comin'!!!
What model shock are you running with the KTM knuckle? I'm getting ready to build mine out and I have a really nice WP shock setup for SM I'd love to move over?
Thank you for clarifying the origin of Stark Varg. A couple of years ago I mentioned that it was a Spanish company on Asphalt and Rubber and everyone and their grandma proceeded to correct me.
Can't wait until someone invents lighter batteries
That was fun, Thanks with a sub/likie
Other question when you mention charging. It isn’t necessary that you charge to 100%. If you come off the track and immediatly plug in for an hour and it charges to 70%, can that get you through a day (where you end it at 15%)?
EG, charging from 10% -> 20% takes much less time than 90% -> 100%. So perhaps not always having the tank 100% full isn’t critical the way operation at 60% might be. As long as 60% gets you through 20 minute sessions, maybe that works all day if it can charge back up to 60% in 1 hr on 110v. (Just making up numbers for illustrative purposes…) My interest in e-bikes isn’t with being green. I has everything to do with being fun to ride. This looks fun. And the left hand brake rear brake adresses an ergonomics limitation with gas bikes. Anyone that has dragged a rear brake to control the chassis may see this as a positive improvement.
The bike starts seriously limiting power at 20%, at 10% you get 10 hp out of it. So you don’t want to run it all the way to the bottom. Also you can only run ~ 35 minutes Supermoto until you hit 30%. Not surprising given the bike is meant to last 45 minutes MXGP, which is much less harsh on the battery as compared to Supermoto.
What are your thoughs on that much torque but without rider aids and tractiin control! Is it a highside waiting to happen? I suspect it is ok in the same way as a gas bike (don’t chop the throttle!!!).
It requires great throttle control. Better than on a stock 450 bike. The power delivery is crazy linear though, as it is electric. It is not a high side happy machine at all.
The fact that this thing would smoke my built ktm 450 sxf factory edition supermoto is mind boggling to me
In for the outro
Maybe they’ll replace the motor on my stark soon, only had the bike for 2 weeks and now this ua-cam.com/video/NOZ7yh3Gf6g/v-deo.htmlsi=usXyVYTEH9I3aXfS
👎👎👎👎
Adrien Goguet ran the stark in the french supermoto championship last year at villars sous écots and seems like the main issue was traction. There's a short video of it floating around on youtube and a french article on the insane-parts website. The way the electric motor delivers its power it can quickly overwhelm the rear tyre from what I gathered if you're not managing throttle, though I imagine if you had proper acces to the control unit you could tune that in such a way that the power comes on more smoothly even in the full power mode the bike offers. From what I recall they ran the bike in a 55hp setting on tarmac and 35 hp in the dirt to make it work. I can see that thing being a weapon on faster tracks where grip is less of an issue. But trying to put down 80hp on a tighter track with an offroad section where you have to deal with dirty tyres on top pf that things could get dicy quick I think. Nice build nevertheless!
It appears stark must have done a lot of work with the power delivery since then. The firmware has been updated a couple of times since then. My bike at 80hp mode is not uncontrollable. Does require more throttle control than on the KTM, but not impossible. Even on tight tracks, with dirt. I have the same laptimes on those tracks with this bike as my KTM 450 SMR.
